It’s a great idea, but amazing how much push back the organizers have gotten from LA residents. The mayor is supportive though, and it was impressive how many people came out to ride…

We also didn’t know what to do with Riley when she got too big for the green seat. The wee hoo is pretty nice because she can sit and peddle, but she doesn’t have to peddle. It’s a nice intermediate step. We really need to start teaching her to bike without training wheels soon, biut that’s a whole other topic.

We have the same green seat for Ronin but this is the last year she will fit in it. We’re not sure what we’ll do until she is big/alert enough to deal with an Extracycle… Portland does this all summer long (all 5 weeks of it..) where they block off 7-ish miles or so of a section of the city on a Sunday and have it free-for-all for bikers, cops at all major intersections. All the parks along the way have booths with food, crafts, weirdness, etc. and it’s so much fun. Our section of town happened 2 weekends ago and the pedal went only a block from our house. I love these things!
