Thanks Brigitte for speaking out in favor of a puppy. Hmmm….maybe a puppy for Riley’s birthday?? What a dream-gift that would be! Puppies teach kids about love, responsibility, and loyalty. And they can be great baby-sitters too. –Oma Peggy

Elise, I agree with Peg, a puppy is irresistible for any kid, but of course I know from our experiences how much work it is….You would have to convince Yoli to take on responsibility for the daily maintenance… but I am still glad that all you guys could grow up with a dog, because that had always been my childhood dream. Have you tried Damon on reading Goodnight Moon? Full of good-night rituals -and Becky’s favorite for a long time. 😉

Your kids sound delightful and I wish I could spend time with them to see all these fun things.

I love watching Damon insist on putting trash in the garbage can. He watches it fall into the can with fascination. He looks like he wants to crawl in there and muck around in it all. He is such a little boy! Loves the dirt and the doggy licks and the trash.
And Riley is such a talker and an amazing big sister. I have an idea re: her dog fear. A puppy. No child can pass up a puppy. And yes, they are a hassle, but I tellya, kids love baby animals.
And I promise I won’t mention the puppy idea to Riley or Damon. It’s your call, of course. But I’m just sayin…..love, Oma Peggy
