Mayflower

Apparently Riley has been learning about Thanksgiving at the daycare. The other day she came home with a little replica of the Mayflower, and today she had a story about what it is…

“The Mayflower is a boat that the pillowgrims flew over… I mean sailed over in because the people in the place they lived wouldn’t let the pillowgrims do what they wanted to do, so they left in the Mayflower and came here so they could do what they wanted to do.”

This is the cutest description I have ever heard! Make sure that you collect all these vignettes from Riley, just like we saved all your oral reports from daycare… Love, Mommy

Wait, you have Elise’s oral reports from daycare? I want to see them! 🙂

Just went through the whole drawer of artwork from our kids. Turns out that Elise had no reports from daycare, but many fantastic paintings, mainly rainbows and glitter! Will try to take pictures of them this afternoon. I did find some really nice writing by Elise from probably first to second grade:
IF I WERE IN CHARGE OF THE WORLD by ELise
if I were in charge of the world, I’d make a machine that in two seconds flat you’dknow every thing in the world, and the school whoud blow up. If I were in charge of the world, I’d make candy helthy So you whouldn’t get cafaties or fat, so than there wouldn’t be a dentiset. If I were in chare of the world, nothing would hert. You could chose youre bedtime, and have helthier animals, if I were in charge of the world. If I were in chafge of the world, you wouldn’t have to take your parints to the movie with you. If I were in charge of the world you could go anywhare for free, that includs disney world. and you wouldn’t have to eat brussle sprouts or anything yucky like that.
More to follow soon, Brigitte
